Daily Activities
Traditional Bhutanese people started their day very early. Older ones would be up by dawn to say prayers, collect water for offering, start fire, burn incense, make breakfast and tend to the animals. The family would often have a light breakfast before carrying out some morning tasks. This is followed by a big meal by mid-morning before they start the main work of the day. They would break for lunch in early afternoon and stop the main work in the garden or field by evening. After tending to animals by twilight, people settle in their homes by the time it is dark. They would have dinner, carry out some wool work, shoe making, sewing or butter lamp preparation before they go to bed.
