Pen Making
Although the percentage of people who can write in the past were considerably low, those who knew how to write carried out a great deal of writing. Bhutan has a fairly rich records of the writer and scribes in the catalogues and colophons of the books they wrote. They used fountain pens with nibs made from quills, bamboo and metal but it is likely that very few people knew how to make proper pens. With import of all pens and the spread of digital technology, the art of pen making is almost entirely lost today.
