Stria medullares

The stria medullares or medullaris of the thalamus is a fiber bundle containing afferent fibers of the septal nuclei, lateral preoptico-hypothalamic region, and anterior thalamic nuclei to the habenula. It forms a horizontal ridge on the medial surface of the thalamus and is located on the border between the dorsal and medial surfaces of the thalamus, superior and lateral to the habenula. It projects to the habenula and connects the habenula to the limbic system.
