Inferior colliculi

Part of the tectum of the midbrain, the inferior colliculi is located caudal to the superior colliculi on the dorsal surface of the mesencephalon. Its ventral border is the lateral lemniscus. The function of the inferior colliculi is to process and relay auditory information, making it the largest nucleus of the human auditory system.
