Political Event History

The political or secular events of the past form a common topic of Bhutanese historical narratives and conversations. The past political events are narrated with great pride to invoke awe and respect. The accounts of how a righteous valiant leader defeated an evil enemy or a leader was crowned as king is fondly retold to inspire and encourage people, and also to remind the citizens of the sacrifices the forefathers have made to secure the state they live in. The accounts around the family hearth in the evening also serves as edu-tainment for the listeners.
