The Kusunda are an ethnic group of eastern Nepal who whose language of the same name is practically extinct. According to the 2001 census of Nepal, 87 people speak Kusunda as a mother tongue and there are 164 ethnic Kusunda. (Mark Turin – June 01, 2004)
