Bantawa

The Bantawa are a Rai ethnic group of eastern Nepal who speak a Tibeto-Burman language of the same name and which is a Kiranti language. According to the 2001 census of Nepal, 371,056 people speak Bantawa as a mother tongue. (Mark Turin – June 01, 2004)
