Thigh Bone Trumpet

The musical instrument made from human thigh bone or other materials is used in tantric rituals which are of the intense or terrying category. The bone is cleaned, dried, painted and plated with metal sheets to give a pleasant appearance. The trumpets are used in pairs and often blown by junior monks and priests. The trumpet is one of the essential implements for chod practice.
