This is used instead of the auxiliary (or copula) རེད་.

• ཐུབ་བསྟན་ཡིན་པ་རེད། “Ah, it’s Tupten!” (I hadn’t realized.)
• འབྲོག་པ་ཡིན་པ་རེད། “Oh, it’s a nomad.” (I hadn’t thought so.)
• ཨ་ལའི་སྨྱོན་པ་ཡིན་པ་རེད། “So, he’s crazy!” (I didn’t know that.)
