Lateral posterior nucleus

The lateral posterior nucleus is a nucleus of the lateral nuclear group of the thalamus. Like the pulvinar, it receives visual input, functioning as a relay nucleus to transmit information from visuomotor-related structures (superior colliculus, pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus, substantia nigra, pars reticulata) to the visual cortical areas and striatum.
