Lateral dorsal nucleus

The most anterior of the lateral nuclear group, the lateral dorsal nucleus of the thalamus makes significant connections to the limbic area of the cortex through projections to the cingulate cortex and subiculum. It is involved with spatial learning and memory as well as the processing of somatosensory information.
