Silver-gold Smithery
Silver and gold smithery is used in Bhutan for the production of a wide range of cultural objects and artefacts including iconographical figures, ritual tools, musical instruments, ornaments, household utensils, arms and weapons. Although Newari artists were invited for making bronze or silver statues in the past, the Bhutanese craftsmen excelled in making a broad spectrum of silver and gold products including belts and sheaths of swords that men wear and broaches, rings and bracelets which women wear.
