Thread Art

The thread art made by crisscrossing coloured threads in a special pattern is used in the dhoe rituals. The thread decorations are normally fixed above the effigies of people prepared for the ritual in the case of dhoe to be cast away. The thread decorations for dhoe rituals can range from small ones of few inches to large dhoe structures measuring dozens of metres. Thread art is also created to decorative covers for amulets and charms which are printed on paper and then folded into small squares.
