The Particles དང་ and ཤིག་
These very common particles have the same meaning as imperatives formed with the verb alone, or formed with རོགས་གནང་, but refer to a lower register. In conversation they are pronounced respectively da and sh. They may be used with both honorific and non-honorific forms.
- གསུངས་དང་། “Say it.”
- ཕེབས་དང་། “Go.”
- ཕེབས་ཤིག “Go.”
- བཞུགས་ཤིག “Sit down.”
- བཞུགས་དང་། “Sit down.”
- ཟོ་དང་། “Eat.”
- ཉོན་དང་། “Listen.”
- ལབ་དང་། “Speak.”
- ལྟོས་ཤིག “Look.”
