The Particles དང་ and ཤིག་

These very common particles have the same meaning as imperatives formed with the verb alone, or formed with རོགས་གནང་, but refer to a lower register. In conversation they are pronounced respectively da and sh. They may be used with both honorific and non-honorific forms.

  • བཞུགས་ཤིག “Sit down.”
